Eric Jackson opened the doors to his electrical shop in 1928, just as electricity was starting to become wide spread in the home. During the second World War a German fire bomb was dropped on the shop, it smashed through the roof and started a fire on the ground floor. Luckily, Eric was a local fireman and was able to put out the flames before the shop was badly damaged.
Eric’s son, Michael became a partner in the business in the 1960′s, both worked together building a strong partnership until Eric’s death in the late 1980′s.
In 2004, his son Peter joined, now they both are working hard to keep the tradition of trust, and a good quality electrical service for Waterlooville and the surrounding area.
Over the years, Waterlooville high street has seen many changes, from the removal of the tram lines that ran from Horndean in the north, to Portsmouth in the south and today’s a new and controversial bus lane.
Eric Jackson’s Electrical is now the oldest business left in the town, the shop is located the southern end of Waterlooville high street.
